Journalists in the Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC region share inside tips to help students and young professionals land that first/next job. Face Time with the Pros is a collection of seminars designed to help students learn how to be better storytellers, perform on camera, and find out what hiring managers are really looking for.
This is your chance to meet and get advice from news directors and other newsroom leaders.
The day kicks off with a panel of news directors and other newsroom leaders offering insights into the job market and advice about getting your first job.
All students will rotate through a series of sessions that include: tools & story-telling; going live (with a chance to test your skills); and going digital. There will also be two alternative sessions: producing and documentary/long-form.
There will also be lots of opportunities and sign-ups for one-on-one sessions with the pros who can review resumes, resume reels and provide job interview tips.
The day concludes with words of advice and a question & answer session with veteran broadcasters who are members of our NATAS-NCCB’s Gold & Silver Circles.
