Night 47th Emmys Awarded at The Ritz-Carlton in Washington, DC WASHINGTON, June 18, 2005 – The National Capital/Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Television Academy awarded its 47th Emmy Awards tonight at the Ritz-Carlton in Washington, D.C. Emmys were given for excellence in 60 categories, representing the best from from television professionals from across Washington, Baltimore, Norfolk, Richmond and surrounding areas. Also tonight, NATAS honored three of its distinguished members, inducting them into its Golden and Silver Circles. NBC's Willard Scott becomes the first inductee into the chapter's Golden Circle, which honors those who have made an outstanding contribution over at least fifty years. NATAS welcomes Sheila Brooks, President and CEO of SRB Productions Inc., and Jon Stiehm, Retired News Operation Manager for WMAR-TV, into its Silver Circle. The Silver Circle honors outstanding careers over 25 years. Tonight marks the first time NATAS-NCCB has celebrated its Golden and Silver Circle inductions during Emmy Night.
